Do you desire life in this world and the world to come since life does not end with this world? It extends to the Greater Beyond—another world. Hence Jesus Christ commanded in Matthew 6:33:
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you."
The most important thing in this message is LIFE. What is life? This is the period during which you have your being. What kind of life do you desire? "That you may have many days and see good" (Psalm 34:12). If this is your desire, Jesus Christ commanded you to seek the kingdom of God FIRST and His righteousness and all these things that make up life—many days and the goodness of God SHALL be added.
The order is obvious: first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness joined together and the second, these things—food, drink, clothing, housing, etc.
The ones to be sought and the ones to be added are like horse and carriage. When the horse gets going, the carriage follows as a matter of course. You are therefore enjoined to invest all your resources in seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and other things shall be added.
This is not to say that you should not work for your food, drink, clothing and housing. What the Lord is saying is that, it is not your work that will bring them but the blessing of God upon your work. If Paul plants Apollos waters, only God can give increase. Can we not see that the richest man among us is not necessarily the one that has worked the hardest?
Jesus Christ who came to this earth physically to die for the sin of man in order to reconcile him with God and to show him the way to salvation is coming again to establish the kingdom of God on earth and to rule it physically (Revelation 5:10). God desires that those that are chosen and elected shall rule with Jesus Christ in the kingdom.
If you have been called and elected, you are commanded to make your calling and election sure so that you can be in the kingdom of God (2 Peter 1:10-11).
Making your calling and election sure is to confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and to continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This is in praise and worship, living by the word of God, keeping the word of God and praying always without ceasing. The manifestation of these is that you will live a victorious life, that is victory over the world and the power of darkness because the light of Jesus Christ will be in you throughout and when Jesus Christ comes you will resurrect or be immortalized to reign with Him. I pray that this will be your portion in Jesus name. AMEN.
