Jesus' Enemies and the Fulfillment of Prophecy

And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him, for they feared the people. Luke 22:2

It is interesting to see how even the enemies of Jesus Christ were part in the fulfillment of the prophecies regarding Him. Why did they choose the period of the Passover feast to execute their plan for the crucifixion of Jesus? John the Baptist had earlier introduced Jesus as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world; at the Passover feast, the Passover lamb had to be killed, and if Jesus was the Lamb of God, as John the Baptist said, then, He had to killed on the same day that the Jews killed the Passover Lamb.

Then came the Day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover must be killed. Luke 22:7

So, without knowing it, the elders of Israel chose a day to kill Jesus that will confirm that He was truly the Lamb of God who was offered, like the prophet Isaiah prophesied, for the iniquities of the people. In the same way, many prophecies about Jesus were fulfilled using, as instruments, those who were opposed to Him and all that He stood for. In the same way, God will use what your enemies do to hurt you as instruments to bring you to where He has appointed for you. This way, your enemies are vital prophetic tools for the fulfillment of divine appointment.
