“I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” (Luke 16:9 , NIV)
We had better listen carefully to any words Jesus Christ uttered. They are just as applicable today as they were when he walked the earth. We have seen how he brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. He also brought to light the perishable and the imperishable.
Everything we can see and touch is perishing: “For this world in its present form is passing away.”
(1 Corinthians 7:31b, NIV)
(1 Corinthians 7:31b, NIV)
Paul said, “And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.” (1 Corinthians 9:25, NKJV) The KingdomNomics practitioner is incentivized by the imperishable values held dearly by almighty God.
Jesus tells us to use worldly wealth to gain friends for eternity, so that when worldly wealth is gone we will be welcomed into eternal mansions. Whatever currency we have in this world, including silver and gold, is in the process of perishing. None of these perishable items of earthly value will have any value in eternity. Therefore, Jesus Christ tells us to “convert it into the imperishable” by using it to win souls to Christ.
In KingdomNomics we have developed what we call the “CONVERTERLATOR CONCEPT.” This is the concept by which something that is perishing can be converted into something of imperishable eternal value. This is done through the CONVERTERLATOR!
Just think—proper investments of time, talent, and treasure made in the kingdom of God will last forever. They will echo into eternity. The verse quoted above, Luke 16:9, is what I call a “CONVERTERLATOR VERSE.” Worldly wealth used in helping to fulfill the GREAT COMMISSION will be imperishable in the world to come since it was used to win souls that will live forever in heaven.
Today, ask yourself:
Am I giving any thought of how I can convert my perishable time, talent, and treasure in this world into the imperishable that will last forever? Our time, talent, and treasure in this world are losing value every day.
