God's Goodness should Lead to Repentance

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Romans 2:4

Who amongst the living can deny having experienced the goodness of God? Consider the following:
You wake up every day to a bright sunshine. Have you ever stopped and considered what life without the sun would have been? Or do you take it for granted that the sun shines? Next, have you taken out time to contemplate the free air that you breathe, and what it would have been if it was left to the merchants of this world? What about the food that you eat? Have you thought of the constancy of the harvest time that follows the seed time? And everything that makes life on earth possible?

On, and on, we can go about the goodness of God that abound to us daily of which we often are unthankful. But above all these is the forbearance of God in executing judgment on us for our many sins. Yet, we go on as though there will be no repercussions for our sins. Have you ever wondered why God has not summarily punished you for your multitude of sins? The Bible says that it is because of His mercy that we have not been consumed.

God's forbearance is to allow you time to repent, but don't be deceived by the pleasures of sin, this forbearance of God will not continue forever, death will bring you to the place where you will have to give account to God for your life, the choices that you made while alive. The only hope for anyone on that day will be what one did with Jesus; did you accept or reject Him? So, be wise, let God's goodness lead you to repentance and faith in Christ Jesus.
