Living by every Word of God

So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. Deuteronomy 8:3

When the Bible says that man shall not live by bread alone, we can understand it to mean that man needs bread for sustenance, but life is more than the nourishment that bread gives. Man's true need is more than the nourishment that bread provides, it lies in what only God's word gives. Therefore, the Bible says that man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The word of God shows us how to live beyond bread, in other words, having bread alone is not living life. Bread is only a part of living, but God's word is all of living.

If God says that man lives by every word of God, what do this mean? It means that God's word has everything that life needs. Following what the word of God says leads to His provisions. Walking in the word of God is the same as walking in His wisdom. How radically successful do you think that a person will be who walks in the wisdom of God?

But the word of God is not only His wisdom, it is also His power. Living by every word that comes from the mouth of God is living by His wisdom and power. This is remarkable, no wonder He tells us that man shall live by every word that comes from Him. When we have wisdom and power, life will be what God intended.

When the Bible says that man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, what is implied is that everything that man needs for life and godliness are available in the word.
