When we Take the Bible Seriously

Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way. Psalms 119:128

The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. Psalms 119:72

The first thing that will happen to us when we start taking the bible seriously is that there will be a shake up in how we previously saw things. The more seriously we take the bible, the more our worldview will come in line with the perspective of God. When our worldview is not different from those of unbelievers, it shows how un-seriously we take the bible. The authority we give to the bible in our lives will be seen in our worldview.

The more secular our worldview is, the further away we will be from the truth taught in the bible. Those who take the bible seriously also take everything written in it as the very words of God. Until we take this posture to the bible, our worldview will continue to be the same as those of the unbelievers. We can't have all that the bible promises if we don't embrace, as true, all its teachings.

When the bible is taken seriously, it will redefine how we see things like, sin, marriage, sex, money, other people, the gathering together of God's children, fashion, work ethics, politics, and virtually every other thing in life. The outcome of this disposition towards the bible is that you will begin to see life from the light of God, and the bible, as not just containing God's word, but God's word in deed.
