Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Heb. 11:1
But how can you be assured that what you do not see is
true? People will call you crazy if you insist that what is not
verifiable with the physical eyes is true. And when they ask you to give
them your proof for your position, you tell them that it is written in
the word of God. You must be crazy! But you are not only telling them,
you are placing your entire life on what cannot be empirically verified,
simply because it is written in the word of God. Crazy!
Remember Jesus? One day He came into the house of Jairus,
whose daughter had just been pronounced dead, when He saw the people
wailing, He said to them, "The girl is not dead but sleeping." As would
be expected, they laughed at Him, thinking Him to be crazy. The world
will always call you crazy when you see what they don't see, nor speak
as they speak. But this 'craziness' is what makes you different from
them. It made Jesus different from them.
Have you forgotten that the friends of Jesus once took hold
of Him, thinking that He was crazy? The apostle Paul so believed in the
resurrection of Jesus Christ that king Agrippa declared that he had
lost his mind. So, if the world calls you crazy on account of what you
believe, you are in good company. You won't be the first to be so
called. Enjoy it!
