His Majesty Crucified for Us

Consider the majesty and dignity of Jesus, He was the sinless Son of God, creator of the universe, yet, He became sin for our sake, and was crucified on the cross, the symbol of ignominy and wretchedness. The law required that the soul that sins shall die, but consider who died for the sin of the world, the sinless Son of God. In a manner of speaking, we can say that the law got far more than it demanded; it demanded the death of the sinner, but it got the death of the Son of God. If all of mankind, from Adam, were crucified for their sin, the law could not have been as greatly vindicated as the death of Jesus Christ did it.

In the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, the law received a vindication that exceeded what it required for sin: it the sinner's death, but it received a holy man's death. It is time we began to properly estimate what Jesus Christ did on the cross, and to give it its appropriate value, and more than that, we must begin to live as people who were redeemed by the previous blood of the Son of God.
