Through Him (The Word), all things came to be, and without Him, nothing came to be that came to be. John 1:3
The question that some ask is, if the Word created all things in the beginning, who then created the Word? This is consistent with naturalistic thinking that assumes that there is no existence beyond the physical realm, which can be physically verified by our natural senses. With this form of thinking, there will be no end to the question, who created the creator.
The problem with this naturalistic thinking is, like we noted earlier, that they want to verify the existence of an eternal being by the same methods that they use to verify things that came to be in time and space. All created things can only be related to by the physical senses, but the eternal Creator, who was before the beginning, and without whom nothing came to be that came to be, can only be related to by faith, which He has graciously bestowed upon all humans.
The question that will eternally stand before everyone is, whether or not, they will use this freely given faith, and trust that God is all that He has revealed Himself to be in nature, conscience and scripture. God made man in such a way that each of us must in one way or the other, believe in something; this is the beauty of the free moral agency of the human kind which he shares with no other creatures.
So, who is God? He is the eternal Creator of the universe who can only be known through faith in His word. The most fundamental question that you will ever have to answer is this, to what end did you deploy the free faith given, by which God can be known and related with? God bless you as you ponder this question.
In another post, we will consider in the future is the question of what will happen to those who never had the scriptures.
