Sin, as an affront to God, will ever attract to the sinner the just
judgment of a holy God, yet, sin, as grievous as it is, cannot quench
God's love for the sinner. This truth is so well captured in John 3:16,
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that
whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
What stands between the sinner and forgiveness of his sins is no longer his sins, but his unbelief. If it was his sin, then he will be required to do something about it before God can forgive him, but thanks be to God who, in His love for us, has discounted our sin at the expense of His Son, therefore, now we can come by faith and receive forgiveness of our sins. Sin, no matter how great it may be, is incapable of keeping God's love from the sinner. How I wish that this truth is made known to everyone wrestling to rid himself of his sins before coming to God.

The
devil has successfully lied to the world, telling them that God is too
holy to receive them in their filth, therefore, they must clean
themselves up before seeking God. In trying to do this impossible task
of cleaning up themselves before coming to God, many sinners have given
up the hope of ever being accepted by God because no matter how hard
they try, they still remain inadequate. Sadly, many have perished in
their self-effort at fixing themselves before coming to God.
It is true that sin created an infinite gulf between us and God, yet, God's love has perfectly bridged that gulf, now everyone can cross and receive forgiveness of sin, and begin an eternal relationship with God made possible by the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Praise God !
