During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them. Exodus 2:23-25 | NIV
In Genesis 15:13, And [God] said to Abram, Know positively that your descendants will be strangers dwelling as temporary residents in a land that is not theirs [Egypt], and they will be slaves there and will be afflicted and oppressed for 400 years. [Fulfilled in Exod. 12:40.]. The set four hundred years spoken of had been fulfilled in Egypt and Israel, as prophesied, was in bondage to the Egyptians, and the people cried out to God in their distress. But sometimes God does not come forth as we presume He would, and it was so for the Israelites in Egypt. Not withstanding the seeming silence, God was not unmindful of their plight. At the right time, He came down to attend to their cry.
God never forgets His covenant with His people. Time may pass, but He never forgets. We are the ones who forget. Have you believed God for any of His promises? Then wait, because He will come through for you at the appropriate time.
