Worship without an Offering

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the Lord. Even your women and children may go with you; only leave your flocks and herds behind.” Exodus 10:24 | NIV

First, we saw how pharaoh would not allow the people to go far, now he will not allow them to go with what can be used as an offering to God. Only an enemy of true worship will cause a worshipper to approach the place of worship without an offering. Moses knew the practical impossibly of attempting to worship without an offering.

Today, the god of this world still tries to persuade God's people that they can come to the place of worship without an offering to worship God with. Just as those in the Old Testament could not conceive of worship without an offering, we too should not. God requires it of His people not to come before Him with an empty hand.
