The Messenger and His Message

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15

Every messenger carries a particular message from a particular source. There are three different sources from where a message can arise from, and the source of the message determines whose servant the messenger is. Those who receive the message of the King are servants of the king, and the messenger who is faithful in delivering the King's message is sure to receive the King's reward also. If they deliver the King's message, it will be what the people need to hear.

Next is the people's message. Those who deliver the people's message are messengers of the people. If the messenger delivers a people's message, it will be what the people want to hear.

The other type of message is what I call the messenger's message. The person who delivers this kind of message tells the people what he wants them to hear. Such a person is a messenger of his belly.

The spiritual condition of the hearers of any message is determined by whose message they hear. Only as a messenger brings the King's message to the people, will they partake in His blessings. The message that a messenger delivers shows who his master is, the King, the people, or the messenger? The character of every messenger is determined by the message that he carry. Those who carry the King's message are often godly because their lives are directly impacted by the message they carry.
