A Little Leaven

A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. Galatians 5:9

Satan is smart, he wants to achieve the greatest result using less resources, therefore, in his opposition to faith in Christ, he does not attempt to eradicate the faith, but to corrupt it. The way that he does this is by infesting the church with false apostles and prophets who in turn dilute the word of God with erroneous doctrines. Satan's most effective method of doing this is by taking the word of God out of its context. The devil knows that once the word is taken out of its context, it can be made to say whatever you want it to say.

Apostle Peter, in 2 Peter 2:1, said, "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves." By merely Introducing a little bit of falsehood to the truth, the entire truth is compromised because a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Satan knows that it will be more difficult to convince a person who has believed in the Lord Jesus to renounce his faith than it will be to convince him to believe in a truth that has been compromised by a lie. And sadly, he is succeeding at this.

The only saving grace is for the believer to be well versed in the truth.
