God's Longsuffering

"Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as if with a cart rope; That say, “Let Him make speed and hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it.” Isaiah 5:18-19

In the days of the utterance of this prophecy by the prophet Isaiah, the people mocked God, saying, “Let Him make speed and hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it.” They dared God to execute the judgment pronounced in His words, if indeed He was God. This is not different from what the haters of God of this age say, in their vane imaginations against God. They openly violate His commands, live to gratify every lustful desire of their hearts, and because their rebellion is not immediately visited with divine retribution, they conclude that God is only the concept of the figment of man's imagination. But they are wrong because they are ignorant of the fact that the longsuffering of God is His grace given the sinner to repent.

But to all those who dare God with their evil doings, there awaits the just reprimand of God on the day when He will judge the world in righteousness. "Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as if with a cart rope". Such people have no regard for God and His commands, they are God to themselves, living according to their own devices, but their end shall come suddenly, except they repent.

There's a chance that you know such people, and as you observe their lives, you see that things seem to be going on well with them in spite of their rebellion against God, don't be deceived by what you see, they are walking their way into an eternity of gloom and doom: an eternity separated from God. Do not go their way because it leads to destruction. God bless you.
