"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36
From
the passage of scripture above, we are told that the person who does
not believe in the Son has the wrath of God remaining on him. This means
that unbelief is not the reason that the wrath of God is upon the
sinner, God's wrath is upon everyone that is born into this world, but
faith in Christ Jesus removes the wrath, therefore, when a person
rejects Christ, by whom the wrath of God is removed, such a person has
the wrath remaining in him.
Because
everyone is born a child of wrath (Ephesians 2:3), the wrath of God is
upon all. This has nothing to do with whether they have done good or
not, it is their inheritance, apportioned to them by sin. Notice that
the bible did not say that the wrath of God will come upon those who
reject Christ, rather that the wrath of God abides on them. But thanks
to God, who in Christ, has made a way whereby we can be delivered from
the wrath that was upon us from birth.
