"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:22
It is important that we make clear that what is in view here is temporal death. Because of the sin of Adam, death passed on to all humanity. Everyone who is born is headed for death. Adam is the progenitor of a race whose end is death, but in contrast, in Jesus, all shall be made alive. Again, it is important that we make clear that this is not particularly making reference to eternal life, but bringing all who died in Adam back to life because He is the life giver.
In John 5:28, Jesus said, "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."
In Adam, all die, but in Christ, all are made alive to answer for how they lived in this world. When the bible says that in Christ all shall live, it does not mean that He will raise all to eternal life. Since this is what the bible says, it becomes instructive for everyone to understand that each person is the architect of his/her eternal destination. For this reason, it is important that we all choose wisely, and act quickly because none of us is a master of when this life shall come to an end.
