"In the beginning God created..." Genesis 1:1.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:1, 3.
In the scriptures, God revealed Himself as He would want to be known. Whatever you think about Him that does not agree with the self-revelation of Himself is inconsequential. For example, He revealed Himself as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. But you say, I don't believe that. Well, opinions don't change reality. Sadly, this is what many sceptics of the doctrine of God fail to take account of. Your opinion of God does not change who He is, it only reveals who you are: unbeliever.
But your scepticism about God can change if you will only look at Jesus. A glance at Jesus reveals the image of the invisible God, therefore, He could say of Himself, "...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?" John 14:9. Elsewhere, He said to the Jews, "I and my Father are one." John 10:30. Looking at Jesus is your surest way of aligning your views of God to what He says of Himself because seeing Him is seeing God.
On the other hand, those who believe may say that He is big? But words have no capacity to describe the One who is infinite. Or they may say that He is wonderful? Then we must ask, how wonderful is wonderful? Whatever we may say of God, we must in addition say that He is indescribable whom we are trying to describe; our finite mind cannot capture the perfect greatness and wonder of Him who is infinite. This must be our humble submission. So you see, God is bigger than whatever your opinion of Him is. The best we can say of God is that He is everything He said in His word that He is, and end the conversation there.
