The Man Jesus

The story of Jesus Christ is best captured by looking at the life of men and women through the ages who gave up everything that mattered to them in the pursuit of life with Jesus. They did not only give up families, and vocations, they even gave their lives for the cause of Jesus Christ. The question must be asked, 'what was the driving force propelling their wholesome devotion to this Man called Jesus?'

The bible is a collection of 66 books authored by about 40 people living in different places and times who were from different social backgrounds. In this book of books are revealed astonishing information about Jesus, written hundreds of years before His birth. The things written by these different authors all found fulfillment in the life of Jesus Christ. Time and space will not permit us to delve into all the ancient prophecies that were accurately fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ, but in our bid to understand what was the driving force propelling men and women who gave up everything to follow Him, it will be needful to examine a few of them.

The prophet Isaiah prophesied of His virgin birth and the kind of death He would die; King David, speaking by the Holy Spirit, spoke of His resurrection; Daniel prophesied that He would be killed, but not for His own sins, but for others. On his own part, prophet Micah prophesied of the place of His birth: Bethlehem. Everything written about Him before He was born happened as predicted.

His personal life was impeccable, even His enemies couldn't gainsay Him. He was born of a virgin as predicted; crucified and rose from the dead on the third day as ancient scriptures predicted He would. If everything written about Him came true, but He failed to rise from the dead, He would have been the greatest fraud fostered by religion on humanity. But He rose, and that, not in a spiritual form, but a physical resurrection which could be verified. This is the Man who has been adored by millions, if not billions, through the ages, and He is still being adored by many today. It is to Him that I invite you. The bible says, taste and see that the Lord is good. I found this to be true after living for many years as a Jesus hating atheist, but I found that the One I hated the most was the One that loved me the most.

If you have not known Him, this may be the moment that He has been waiting for to make Himself known to you. And if you have known Him, it may be time for you to make Him known to someone else. God bless you.
