"By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith." Hebrews 11:7
Many people want to experience the miraculous, but they fail to understand that it takes faith to do so. Every time you read, by faith, in the Bible, what is meant is that the person acted on something that God told him. When God speaks, we will be required to do two things: believe and act. Noah heard the word of God, believed it, and acted upon it and he supernaturally delivered. Acting on the word of God sets in motion or rather, activates its innate ability to reproduce itself in us according to what it promised. God watches over His word to perform it.
God speaks to us primarily through His written word, and by the Holy Spirit impressing something upon our hearts. At other times, He prompts us by His Spirit, and we can trust such promptings to be the mind of God regarding what to do. This often comes as thoughts and imaginations in our minds. Acting upon such promptings release the supernatural power of God to work on our behalf. To ignore such promptings and expect to experience the miraculous is futile. So, what has God said to you in His word, or by the promptings of the Holy Spirit? Acting upon such promptings position you for the miraculous. But to ignore these and hope to experience the supernatural is to hope in vain.
