THEN JESUS called together the Twelve [apostles] and gave them power
and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. Luke 9:1
Always, the call of Jesus is backed with power and authority over the
powers of darkness. It was so when He called the apostles and sent them
to preach the gospel, and it will always ever be so after them. If the
call is by Jesus, it will be backed by the power of God, it is never
left to the called. No servant of the Lord who is careful to bear this
truth in mind will be intimidated by whatever satan and his demons do
because there will be a consciousness of the power of God available to
them to deal with the forces of darkness that seek to oppose them.
With the call also comes power and authority to execute the
commission to which we are assigned. But we also must not lose sight of
the responsibility of those called to live worthy of their calling, for
we cannot live like the world and hope to execute judgement against the
powers of darkness. To successfully resist the devil, we must first
submit to the Lord. This is how it works.
