Will All Souls Rest in Peace?
Life without Jesus Christ is full of crisis and endless life frustrations. Jesus is the living Word of God. Looking into life, I came to understand why the Bible says we are pilgrims; having seen the way people are dying daily, passing away through accidents, illnesses, childbirth and a host of other ways.
Going through the newspapers or walking along the street and on cars, you see a lot of obituaries and on them it's phrased, "REST IN PEACE". But have you ever considered if all souls shall indeed rest in peace? The answer is an emphatic NO. All souls cannot rest in peace. The Bible says in Isaiah 48:22, "There is no peace says the Lord unto the wicked." And in Proverbs 11:21, "Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished."
Have you ever thought of where the man or woman we are making merriment on his/her behalf that passed away has gone to? John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. But he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the begotten Son of God" (John 3:18b).
People believe that once "REST IN PEACE" [R. I. P] is written over the deceased or on their graves, then will he/she rest in peace; such is deceitful hopelessness. It is written in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." And in 2 Corinthians 6:2c, "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." Meaning, repentance must come before death and not after death, for the dead cannot make peace with God. The perfect God keeps a perfect record of every man's life (Jeremiah 16:17).
Therefore how can these set of people — adulterers, fornicators, murderers, drunkards, women who murder unborn babies by way of abortion, witches and wizards who fly at night to oppress and afflict people, secret cultists, liars, thieves, men who murder their wives, wives who murder their husbands, smokers, fraudsters and so on— rest in peace without repentance before death?
The Bible says in Galatians 6:7, "Be not deceived God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." How can they rest in peace when they don't know the Prince of Peace? God loves the sinner, but hates sin; He is anxious to separate the sinners from sin. So make haste; Jesus can save you from perishing. For this purpose He came. Jesus did not come for the righteous, but came for the sinners to repent (Matt 9:13c).
Do you know the moment breath leaves your body you wake up in another world? Why must you perish and go to hell? Remember, Jesus loves you. In Ezekiel 33:11, God says, "As I live saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live."
Remember the day you will pass away nobody will go into the grave with you. Alone will you go and alone will you face your Creator. The Scripture says, "And it is appointed unto men to die once, and after this is judgment" (Heb 9:27). Make this decision NOW before it's too late!
