Choose Life

"See I have set before this day life and death, good and evil…I call heaven and earth to record this day against you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thee and thy seed may live" (Deuteronomy 30:15 & 19). Beloved, the way of death is the way of this world: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lust, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling, etc.

God desires us to choose life. How can one choose life? God has made a wonderful provision for every man who desires to depart from the evil ways of this world through his Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the natural world from man (John 1:29).

Jesus is the way the truth and life: no man cometh unto the Father except by Him (John 14:6). You may consider in your heart that you have no need for Jesus; after all, you are morally sound and socially acceptable. Consider also that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Roman 6:23).

The promised gift of eternal life is not restricted to a particular nation, tribe, colour or class of people. It is for every person. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

You may consider also in your heart that "whosoever" could not include you because of your past sinful life. Jesus has promised that if we confess our sins, He will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Beloved, God is knocking at the door of your heart, open unto Him.

Receive Him into your heart and into your life that you might gain eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ.
What are the consequences then for those who refuse life and cling unto the way of death?

"Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turns not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked ways, he shall die in his iniquity" (Ezekiel 3: 19). Whosoever shall die in his iniquity shall have eternal condemnation because he rejected the way of life, he shall be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).

Will you continue in the way of death and end up in eternal death? Beloved, God invites you to choose life. Confess your sins and forsake them. Receive Jesus and be saved (John 3:16).
