"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." 2 Timothy 3:1
"The last days" is reference to the time that we are in at the present time. It speaks of the time before the rapture. So, the apostle Paul, calls our attention to what the condition of the world will be during this time, and according to him, it will be a most difficult and dangerous time. It will be difficult because the mystery of iniquity will be at work in the world, and the hatred towards God will be like no other time.
We will know that we are in the last days when we see the rapid progression of the following traits among men: self-centeredness, the love of money, arrogance, the practice of unrighteousness, departure from all that is known as truth, love of pleasure more than God, hypocrisy and sexual perversity of the ugliest form. Pause and ask yourself if you can see any or all of these happening in and around you. If you can see them, then, know that you are living in what the apostle Paul called the last days.
This is where we are in at this time, and as we observe the things that happen in our world at this time, we are to be reminded that our time here is short, and that the rapture could happen any moment.
