And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. Mark 7:32
Often we fail to see that many of the people who came to
Jesus for healing had faith to be healed. For example, we often read of
them coming to Jesus and saying, put your hands on a sick person, and he
will be healed. When I realized this, it corrected my previous views
that Jesus didn't require the faith of those He healed to be able to
heal them. For example, in His village, we are told that He could not do
much miracles because of the unbelief of the people. So you see, when
coming to Jesus for healing, you need a measure of faith to receive from
Him. The next thing I found in many people is that they think that they
need very big faith to receive something from Jesus, but Jesus said
that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, it will do the work.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Nothing is received from
grace apart from faith.
The woman with the issue of blood came believing; Jairus
came believing; the centurion came believing; the people in various
villages came believing; the woman who Jesus called a dog came
believing. All of these people received what they came to Him for; the
blind men came to Him believing; the leper came to Him believing; you
too can come believing, and you will leave with what you came for. Jesus
is the same today as He was in the days when He walked the earth.
