Why Satan Seeks to Annihilate Israel

"They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance." Psalms 83:4

In Genesis chapter three, after the fall of man, God pronounced judgment on the serpent decreeing his end by the seed of the woman. From that time going, the devil began to seek ways of aborting the fulfillment of this prophecy. First, he attacked the daughters of men to defile them and make them unqualified to bring forth a pure seed. But in Noah, God defeated that plot.

In Abraham, God promised to bring about a nation out of which a seed would be born through whom He will bless the world. In the cause of time Israel was born and God separated them to Himself, a peculiar people through whom the promised seed was to come. Upon this, satan's sphere of search was narrowed down to the people of Israel. Everything that must be done to destroy this nation must be done, and if this could not be done, then they must be infiltrated and made to be like all other nations of the world. The object of all of these is to disqualify Israel from being a nation that the Seed will come through. Satan understands that without a nation called Israel, God's plan to execute the judgment which has been pronounced against satan cannot be fulfilled.

Through the ages, this has been satan's preoccupation: to annihilate the people of Israel. Pharaoh, in Egypt tried, but failed; Haman tried, but failed; Hitler came closest to achieving this objective, but equally failed. When you see the flaming growth of antisemitism around the world, understand that it is the same person who is orchestrating it: the devil. The last thrust against Israel to annihilate it will be by the Antichrist, when he will mobilize the armies of the world and march against Israel, but both he and his allies will be totally destroyed by the Lord Jesus Christ at His coming. This will be the last war of this age and Israel will be saved even though it is only a third of its population that will be saved. The bible calls this the remnant.

In spite of all his efforts at stopping the Seed from being born, the Seed was born, but you would have expected that since the Seed has come, that the devil will accept defeat and await his final destruction. But not so for the devil. He still believes that he has a chance of aborting his judgment by the destruction of the nation Israel. In the prophecies leading up to his final destruction, the existence of a physical sovereign nation called Israel must be in place, and in his thinking, if Israel can be destroyed, there will be no nation that the Messiah will come to. Israel occupies a key role in the final destruction of the devil and the establishment of the kingdom of heaven on earth, which is known as the kingdom age.

So you see, for satan's dominion of the earth to continue, Israel must cease to exist as a nation. But thanks to God, Israel cannot be annihilated as its enemies think to do.
