“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s
womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my
prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 [NLT]
How could God have known a person before he was even formed in his
mother's womb and appointed him for a mission before he was born? These
are questions that don't matter if God is in charge. This passage of the
bible confirms the question of our reality in the view of God even
before the time we became a physical reality.
The events that take place now are not the things that shape our
lives and determine our destiny. Two things do. What God set us apart
for before time began and our response to Him in the now. But often, the
events of time seem to suggest that they are in control of what happens
to us in the long run, this is not true: God is in control.
We are objects of divine engineering, designed before time began and
prepared for a defined mission on earth. At the right time, God brought
us upon the earth to fulfill His purpose. From start to finish, we are
God's handiwork made for specific use. So, let's rejoice in this
knowing: that we are known before we were formed and that purpose was
assigned to our lives before we were born. Praise God! But it is our
duty to seek to know what that purpose is for which we are made.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Proverbs 25:2 (NIV)
