False Apostles

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." — 2 Corinthians 11:13

“…Thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars” (Revelation 2:2).

The fact that there are false apostles implies that efforts must be made to identify them.

These guys are false
Someone is false who misrepresents who he is by what he does, by what he says, or by the lie or misrepresentation that he purports to be true.

They work hard at what they do. They are deliberate in their efforts to show themselves for what they are not.

We must put them to test as the church in Ephesus did. But to test requires knowing what to look out for.

They transform themselves into apostles of Christ. Their religion is entirely outward because they don't have the life of God in them. They harp on the miraculous, having nothing of Christ to show. But it is important to remember that God does not have a monopoly of the supernatural, satan does too. What God has a monopoly of is righteousness and true holiness. By their fruits we shall know them. Fruits come from the life of the tree, they cannot be faked. What is inside is what will be produced. How sad that claims are no longer tested before they are believed. No wonder the mass deception that is being experienced today.
