The Abiding Wrath

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:36

Christ divides humanity into two distinct camps, those who believe, and are given eternal life, and those who reject Him, and have the wrath of God remain in them. What John 3:26 reveals is that all of the human race are under the wrath of God by nature; the wrath of God does not come upon a man because he has rejected the Lord Jesus Christ, but rather, Jesus offered him an opportunity to escape the wrath of God by bearing on Himself the wrath of God in his stead. When the offer of salvation is rejected by anyone, such a person remains under the wrath of God. It will be like saying, "I will to remain under the wrath of God."

"And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come." 1 Thessalonians 1:10

At the present time, all who reject Jesus Christ are abiding in the wrath of God, and if they die in that state, the wrath of God will be poured on them. For this reason, the gospel is preached to every creature, for it is the power of God unto salvation to all who will believe, and it is the means by which we are delivered from the wrath of God. So, you can step out of the wrath of God and step into the grace of God by faith. "If you shall believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead, and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, you shall be saved." Romans 10:9
