"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" Matthew 7:11
Christ, by the use of the phrase, "How much more," was signifying the Father's readiness to do more than our earthly fathers can, and will do. The point is this, our heavenly Father does not need much entreaty to do us good, it is His good pleasure to do exceeding, abundantly, above all that we can ask or imagine. What confidence this instils in the children of God!
"...the prayer of the upright is His delight." Proverbs 15:8
When next you come to God in prayer, don't forget, He is more excited to give good things to you than it is for you to receive. So, have you ever been excited at something that God did in answer to your prayers? Then remember, He is more excited, giving, than you are, receiving. So, get God excited! Ask! He delights to hear you ask.
